Assam Black Tea
Tasting Nodes: Floral, Wheat, Sage, Malt
Our Assam tea is derived from the Indian state as the Japanese brought over this cultivar during the mid-1920s. Wanting to establish a foothold in East Asia for producing Black Teas, they designated Sun Moon Lake as the best area to cultivate Black teas. These teas have a brighter red hue in color and has soft floral and velvetly texture to it. We recommend to try this with milk or a bit of honey to further enhance its flavor!
Nantou County is located in the center of Taiwan and is the largest Tea growing and production region in the country. The amount of tea exported from this region is estimated to roughly be over 12,000 tons per year and is said to represent over two-thirds of the entire tea output in Taiwan.
